Barry Nicholson, Betty's son-in-law, father of Jennie Lane Nicholson and husband of Kristen Nicholson, received his green belt on July 28, 2006. Barry had started Karate lessons several years ago but dropped out. He has recently renewed his efforts and has been steadily progressing. He did not even allow a severed tendon in his foot keep him from continuing working towards his goal.
