More Ninth Ward Photos
Collapsed building or just debris?
There are a some people making coming back and living in FEMA trailers while rebuilding.
It's still mostly a ghost town. Grass and weeds are growing wild and tall. Some folks have complained that it is a home for rats and other vermin. Where's the Agent Orange when you need it?

Some photos in the Ninth Ward
I took a few photos in the Ninth Ward. They are either on North Robertson, one of the major routes through the Ninth Ward, or the block adjacent to N. Robertson St.

Betty's New Job
Betty started her new job with Unified Recovery Group last week. URG is the company retained by St. Bernard Parish to pick up the refuse from Hurrican Katrina. (That's right! It's been a year and they are still picking up trash and refuse.) Today makes her second full week on the job. She had to go into the Parish council last week and she was introduced to everyone as "Betty The Trash Lady." Now ain't that a title?

Then and Now
The last few months I have been getting in touch with some of the men with whom I was in the U.S. Air Force 46 to 50 years ago. It has been interesting and has brought back many happy memories of the time I spent in the military. Many of the men remained in the Air Force and retired after 20 years or more of service.
The black and white picture is of and Lonnie Kyle Anthony and me. The photo was taken in the summer or fall of 1957 while we were stationed at NSA at Ft. Meade, Maryland. As I recall it, Kyle had a friend in Baltimore (I think) who was a photographer and we had the photo made while visiting with him.
The color photos below are more or less how we look in 2006. Not much has changed, has it?
